Chiang Mai not mentioned in Dept. Of Airports plan

The Department of Airports announced its intention to push its ten year plan (2016-2025) today which will require a budget of 100 billion baht, to invest in new airports as well as upgrading 29 current ones.

There will be seven new airports built in provinces which currently have no airports, with the aim to promote the economy in all regions. The new Pattalung, Satul, Beung Karn, Mukdaharn, Phayao, Kalasin and Nakorn Partom airports will have flights to both Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang.

There was no mention of the promised new Chiang Mai airport.
