The Chiang Mai Public Health Office has announced that a large new cluster has emerged from Chiang Mai Gate Market, with over 100 people now having tested positive.

It is believed that this cluster was infected by the Muang Mai Market cluster, as markets appear to be ripe spreading grounds for the virus. 106 cases have been confirmed and the market has been ordered to close down.

As to the Muang Mai Market cluster, the confirmed number of people who have tested positive is 1,383 though authorities fear that migrant laborers who have not tested for fear of their immigration status may have spread the virus to greater communities.
