Jirachat Cheutrakul, district head of Doi Saket has reported that the road to Chiang Rai, which saw six sections wash away from floods this week, is now open.

The road has been inaccessible since heavy rains washed away entire sections of the road, since 2nd August.

Vehicles weighing no more than 20 tonnes may now travel on the road which was opened yesterday afternoon. However, when crossing the temporary Bailey bridges the speed limit is no more than 30 kms per hour.

Heavier vehicles are asked to drive up north via Lampang’s Ngao district.
