A body was found in the Ping River on Sunday, in Wat Gate area.
The man was believed to have been deceased for two days and was found with no injuries to his body.
After finding his ID card, police announced that he was a 21 year old student from Buriram who had been missing for a few days.
He was a third year student at university and his lecturer told police that he had been suffering from depression for some time, though was taking medication. His friends had been caring for him, but he had disappeared on Friday after classes and that was when friends began posting on social media looking for him.
