A man posted a clip on Facebook which has gone viral as it shows that he had been scammed by a fruit vendor in Warorot market.

The video shows the man walking away from a fruit vendor and crossing the road to weigh his fruits with another vendor. The scales showed that the initial vendor had fixed the weighing machine so that he lost 200grams to his kilo.

According to the post, the man is himself a durian vendor, so when he purchased langsat, which had a sign saying that it cost 20 baht per kilo, and found it to be suspiciously light, he double checked with another vendor.

He had also questioned the langsat vendor, who looked displeased to be questioned, but he didn’t want a confrontation, so he decided to use social media to warn people and to urge the municipality to check such behaviours and scams at the market.

Following his post many other people commented that they too had found that goods bought at the market didn’t weigh what they paid for.
