CityNews – 20th April 2020, following news of mass queues and even semi-stampedes of people desperate to receive donated goods at various drop off points across the city, the deputy governor has come out to announce that measures will be put in place to ensure social distancing and order at all these spots.

While it is commendable, said the deputy governor, that there are so many good hearted people coming out to help those in need, he is concerned at the spread of the virus and urges all parties to take better precaution.

The municipality has been tasked with managing the distribution points within the city and authorities urge the public to liaise with the municipality or local authorities, from police to sub-district offices, should they wish to make any donations.
