Asean Study Centre in Chiang Mai

CityNews – An Asean study has been opened in Chiang Mai with an aim to educate Thai women about the countries of Asean.


The centre is the idea of the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education (NFE). Thailand’s National News Bureau reported that NFE’s Secretary-General Prasert Boonruang said that the centre will improve the language skills of Thai women and give them a better understanding of foreign cultures and societies. A further 26 centres will be opened throughout Thailand before 2015. 

Chiang Mai Public Library will serve as the location of the centre. Foreign visitors will also be able to avail themselves of FREE Thai language courses.
