A billion baht budget freight distribution centre in the pipeline

CityNews – Following the government’s announcement of its intention to build mega projects in terms of freight centres in eight provinces which includes Chiang Mai, the Department of Land Transport has announced that it will construct a facility in Saraphi Sub-district on 119 rai of land. The location was chosen, according to authorities, for being close to the train station.

The estimated budget for each centre is a billion baht. As for Chiang Mai, the assessment process had already started in April this year and is expected to be complete by January 17th 2020. Expropriation of land will begin in 2022 and the construction is due to finish by 2025.

Chiang Mai is among eight provinces with this project in the pipeline including Nakorn Sawan, Phitsanulok, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakorn Ratchasrima, Prachin Buri, Khon Kaen, Surat Thani.
