Yesterday afternoon at around 2.30pm a girl was seen jumping off Nawarat Bridge.
According to people in the area, this girl had been wandering around the river area for a few hours today looking forlorn and upset. Suddenly, while crossing the bridge, she jumped in.
A passerby immediately jumped intot he water and brought her back to shore where rescue workers were waiting with blankets.
It was then learned that this 15 year old girl has been battling with depression and is currently undergoing treatment. She had wandered away from home earlier today and her family were frantically searching for her when they heard of the news.
She is uninjured and the family say that they will take her into care and give her proper treatment.
