Over a 100 Rai of Doi Suthep Burnt During the Ban…So Far

CityNews – Over 107 rai of land has been consumed by fire across the 107 rai of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park.

On March 5th, the Protected Areas Regional Office 16 announced a report regarding burning ban period. Since the ban started on the 1st of March there have been at least 20 outdoor burning spots on Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, consuming over 107 rai. The authorities added that the office is working with 14 institutes and organisations to enforce the policy. Watchpoints have been set up at seven areas including Huay Tung Tao, Khun Chang Kian, Pra That Doi Suthep, Mae Hia and Chang Phuak. The crews are supplied with masks, flash lights, water and food.
