Kick Off Project Begins, CP and Chiang Mai to Reduce Smog

CityNews – Chiang Mai Vice Governor Puttipong Sirimat presided over the opening of the “Kick Off” project on December 12, aimed at supporting the agreement signed by Chiang Mai Province and CP Corporation to reduce smog pollution and find more sustainable ways to manage crops in Chiang Mai.

The cooperation project will help reduce the industrial impact of planting crops such as corn and feeding animals, creating more environmentally friendly methods, which will also help build community permanence.

Chiang Dao district is the leading district among the target areas – Chiang Dao, Mae Chaem, and Samoeng districts.

At the event, Chiang Dao residents were provided knowledge the effects of burning to residents’ health and economic conditions to cease burning.

A campaign day to sustainably prevent and solve smog problems has been set in the district. There will be sub-districts contests to reduce burning and sustainably solving smog joined by 400 people from communities, government offices, and private organisations.

Mae Chaem district will host the same event on December 22nd, followed by Samoeng district on January 5th.
