Local residents informed Changpuek police at around 8am after discovering the bodies in a bush. The men had both been shot in the head.

Next to the bodies was a motorcycle without a licence plate, and police also found a bullet and two backpacks containing black clothes.

One of the men was identified as Ekachai Petpongprai, 26, of Omkoi’s Yang Piang sub-district. Police have so far been unable to identify the other man, but believe he is a migrant from a neighbouring country.

Two arrest warrants had previously issued for Ekachai, who was wanted for thefts in the area. Police believe the murders are connected to local criminal gangs involved in the stolen vehicle trade. The bodies were taken for autopsies and investigations are ongoing.
