CityNews – Traffic police have warned drivers that they will be cracking down on misdemeanours at around 200 locations nationwide, including three key Chiang Mai intersections, from tomorrow.

Officers will focus on intersections that have generated large numbers of complaints over the past few years. Ninety of these are in Bangkok, but the others are spread around 18 different provinces, including Chiang Mai.
The three locations in Chiang Mai that will be closely monitored are the intersection next to the Airport Plaza, the Rim Kum Intersection at the top of Nimmanhaemin road, and the Saen Dek intersection on the highway next to Central Festival shopping mall.
Police will look out for five specific traffic offences – overtaking in prohibited areas, stopping beyond crossing lines, blocking intersections, driving the wrong way and using fake licences. Fines will range from 500 to 2,000 baht, depending on the offence.
