CityNews – The junta have threatened the prison authorities with their jobs in a bid to clean up the Thai prison service.

General Paiboon Koomchaya – head of the legal and judicial affairs of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) – yesterday stated prison wardens can expect to be removed from office if they fail to quell the internal drugs trade.

The way that food is to be delivered to the prisons will also be overhauled, as it is believed it is often via the caterers that contraband, such as illicit drugs and cell phones, enters they system.
