The two brightest planets, Venus and Jupiter, will appear very close together in the sky on Monday morning, rising in the east from dawn.

The National Astronomical Research Institute will set up telescopes at the centre from around 10am to 12 noon on Monday, which is also National Science Day. Experts say the planets will appear closest at around 10.40am.

The centre is currently hosting the National Science and Technology Fair, until August 28. The opening ceremony was held yesterday.
