Spring Festival Message to friends from all walks of life in the Consular District

As the Spring Festival of the Year of the Rabbit is around the corner, on behalf of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai, I would like to extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to friends from all walks of life and the overseas Chinese in Northern Thailand.
The past year has been an extraordinary one in which the Chinese people have worked hard and moved forward with determination. The Communist Party of China (CPC) has successfully convened its 20th National Congress, drawing up an ambitious blueprint for building a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts. Under the guidance of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government and the Chinese people have overcome difficulties and challenges to coordinate epidemic prevention with economic development. We have adapted our COVID response in light of the evolving situation in order to protect the life and health of the people to the greatest extent. At the same time, we have made steady progress in economic development, retaining our status as the second largest economy in the world.
The past year has also witnessed a bumper harvest of friendship between China and Thailand. During President Xi Jinping’s visit to Thailand, leaders of the two countries reached an agreement to formulate a joint action plan for strategic cooperation and they vowed to further enhance the Belt and Road cooperation. President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced that the two countries would work together to build a China-Thailand community with a shared future for enhanced stability, prosperity and sustainability, hereby adding new dimensions to the existing family-like relations between the two countries. Now that a new era of China-Thailand relations has begun, the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Northern Thailand will provide greater opportunities for development.
As dreams light up our road forward, it’s time to forge ahead. This year marks the beginning of full implementation of the guiding principles laid down at the 20th CPC National Congress and a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects. The Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai will continue to work hand in hand with friends from all walks of life to compose a new chapter in the history of China-Thailand friendship.
The auspicious Rabbit is ready to greet the spring and joyous families are looking forward to a prosperous new year. It is my sincere wish that friends from all walks of life and the overseas Chinese shall enjoy good health and great success in the Year of Rabbit.
