Two men drove pick-up trucks into a carwash in Lampang’s Thoen district on Tuesday, but quickly drove off when they saw police nearby.

Police blocked one driver, 44-year-old Arnon Saensiri of Chiang Mai’s Sarapee district, and arrested him and a friend when they found the pills in the truck.

The other driver escaped but was later arrested in Lamphun’s Lee district. Four other people were also arrested in connection with the drugs.

Arnon told police that he had been paid 100,000 baht to carry the drugs, which he had picked up from the Mae Ma Lai Intersection in Chiang Mai’s Mae Taeng district.
