CityNews – Soldiers and excise officials arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of making counterfeit alcohol at his home in Chiang Mai.

Jullakan Kladjareon, 27, is accused of producing fake liquor by mixing alcohol with smell and color additives to make it look like foreign spirit brands. He poured the fake alcohol into used bottles, then posted fake tax stamps on them. He sold the alcohol to his friends for 650 to 1,000 baht a bottle.
The officials also seized fake liquor contained in nine 1-litre bottles of foreign spirit brands, nine litres of fake liquor that had not yet been bottled, 121 bottle lids of foreign spirit brands together with fake tax stamps, and 144 empty bottles of foreign spirit brands.
Officials said Jullakan, from Mae Hong Son province, was arrested for the same crime in 2012. He will be prosecuted.
Earlier this week, CityNews reported the arrest of a father and two sons who were also accused of producing counterfeit alcohol.
