CityNews – Police say they have busted a drugs gang which took orders from one or more inmates at Lampang Prison.

Region 5 police arrested three alleged gang members in Chiang Mai, Lampang and Lamphun yesterday morning, and seized 34 yaba tablets.
Another five people were later arrested, with police seizing around 20,000 yaba pills and 2.57g of crystal meth, or Ice.
One of the suspects, a 16-year-old ladyboy, had been involved in prostitution, police said. She had offered a 16-year-old sex worker to men in the Lamphun area so she could raise money to buy drugs for herself.
Police said the gang did business through commercial banks, with around 1 million baht from its drug deals in circulation.
