Plans in the works for recovery

June 4th, 2020 a meeting was held at the provincial hall, led by Governor of Chiang Mai Charoenrit Sanguansit to discuss the economic recovery of Chiang Mai.


The meeting confirmed the various roles each organisation and department will have in the recovery. It also announced that it would be supporting 368 projects, of which 320 are government projects with a budget of 4.8 billion baht. A further 48 projects will be under the Chiang Mai provincial budget of around one billion baht.

Projects are very varied and across multiple sectors with some the governor highlighted such as a plan to promote a more integrated approach to farming with a focus on organic and healthy produce. A Lanna gastronomy project is also in the works as is the New Normal Tourism in Chiang Mai campaign.
