Doi Luang Chiang Dao is the third highest mountain in Thailand and its summit at 2,275m, with its breathtaking views and surrounding nature, a grand prize for any nature lover or those looking to tick a name off their bucket lists.

But because of the delicate ecosystem of the national park, each year there is a restriction on the number of people given passes to climb it. Hiking is allowed from 1st November until 31st January only and registration just closed this weekend.

According to park authorities, every weekend and long weekend in the season was booked within the first day the permits were available. Each day only 100 climbers are allowed access.

Authorities say that they have inspected all trails, upgraded all facilities as well as having placed important QR codes along the way with access to important contacts and info.
