CityNews – On Thursday, November 12 Old Chiangmai (formerly Old Chiangmai Cultural Center) will hold a press conference to announce the many new and exciting changes coming in this high season! From now, the Old Chiangmai are not just Khantoke anymore….in addition to being the very first khantoke dinner anywhere they will now feature Lanna and Thai cultural experiences such as Muay Thai boxing, an Exhibition Hall with new monthly exhibits, a nightly Thai marketplace as well as a weekly fresh organic market plus new restaurants and more! They will feature outdoor film nights, a lecture series and concerts in the beautiful outdoor theater as well as community events such as art exhibits, photo exhibits and textile and pottery exhibits. They will also offer weaving classes and pottery classes as well as classes on traditional ways of dying fabrics.
On Friday, November 20 the Old Chiangmai will kick off the market and Muay Thai shows with an exciting night of entertainment featuring 7 Muay Thai matches in their new Muay Thai Theater, a 2 hour concert featuring performers from The Voice Thailand and performances from our wonderful Khantoke Dancers as well as our new Thai marketplace and many more surprises.
