CityNews – Officials yesterday took part in drills designed to ensure proper access to communications in case of emergencies or disasters in the Chiang Mai, Lamphun, and Mae Hong Son areas.

Chiang Mai’s Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Committee held the drills, which were joined by representatives of other state agencies and the private sector, the National News Bureau of Thailand reported.
The aim was to make sure that related agencies have the knowledge and skills to communicate and report emergency situations effectively, and to promote cooperation between disaster prevention and rescue agencies.
On Wednesday, a field exercise will be held at the Mae Moei Reservoir in Lamphun province.
