CityNews – Roads around the Muang Mai market have been transformed into one-way systems, from today. Both Muang Samut road and Wang Sing Kham road are now one-way, in a bid to ease traffic congestion in one of the busiest areas of Chiang Mai, near the US embassy.
The roads have been repainted and traffic police will be enforcing the new rules as of today. Surrounding roads will remain two-way.
Police will also enforce a “no-stopping” zone on the two roads. This is to prevent additional congestion caused by people parking in the middle of the road so they can quickly grab something from the market.
