CityNews – On September 26th at the Princess Sirindhorn AstroPark, Mae Rim District, an MOU ceremony was held to announce a collaboration between King Mongkut’s University of Technology North in the Thai Space Consortium (TSC) project. The university will be taking part in developing a satellite TSC-1 which is expected to be launched by 2024. The project is a collaboration between the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT), Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), and Synchrotron Light Research Institute.
Dr. Sarun Posayajinda, director of National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand stated that the collaboration will not only enhance the technology, but also the competence of human resource in Thailand’s space industry, which is currently growing. The project will result in the first satellite made by Thais in space and will potentially benefit other technological development.
