CityNews – A red-shirt supporter accused of launching grenade attacks on anti-government protesters earlier this year was last night arrested in northern Chiang Mai province, reports said.

Yongyuth Boondee, aka “Deang Shinjang”, is accused of launching several M79 grenade attacks around Bangkok and in Rayong province during the six-month protest aimed at toppling the Pheu Thai government, which was eventually deposed in the May 22 military coup.
At a police press conference this morning, Mr Yongyuth reportedly confessed to committing the attacks and to being a member of an underground militant wing of the red-shirt movement.
He said the militants had trained themselves how to use the grenade launchers, and had not received any help from leading activists in the red-shirt United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship.
Yoingyuth, who is from Roi Et province in Isaan, said he went into hiding in Buri Ram and Chiang Mai following the military coup.
He has been charged with premeditated murder, causing explosions with intention to harm other people, carrying and using explosive devices without a permit, and possessing firearms and ammunition without a permit, Khaosod reported.
