CityNews – The Marriott International has announced that they are beginning acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts globally.
Marriott International only needs China’s antitrust authorization before finalizing its acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Antitrust agencies from Saudi Arabia and Mexico both approved the merger on Monday July 25.
Marriott “will be prepared to close the transaction promptly” once receiving clearance from the Chinese regulatory agency (MOFCOM), which is expected to take place later this month.
