CityNews – Police on Saturday arrested a man for shooting his girlfriend in the face following a row over money.
Alleged gunman Surin Muangkaew at Mae Rim police station.
Officers were called to a house in Mae Rim’s Maung Kaew sub-district, where they discovered 42-year-old Kung Khunyotying lying in a pool of blood.
She had allegedly been shot in the jaw by her boyfriend, Surin Muangkaew, 57, who then fled the scene. The victim was taken to Sansai hospital, where she is in intensive care with serious injuries.
Police said Surin had divorced his ex-wife last Thursday, and as part of the settlement received one million baht.
He gave his two daughters 100,000 baht each without telling Kung, who quarrelled with him when she found out. During the argument, Surin allegedly got the gun and shot his wife.
Police arrested him the same day, and seized an 11mm pistol. Surin confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted.
