CityNews – The amphur of Mae Jaem has pledged today, shared by the Raks Mae Ping activist Facebook group, that they would no longer allow the growing of corn for animal feed and have banned burning year round.
The post was shared from Sumit Athiprom, a Facebook user representing the amphur.
The agreement has been accepted by farmers and residents in the Mae Jaem area.
The agreement also concludes that if anyone is found burning forests in the area, they will be punished by planting 20 times the amount of trees they destroyed and care for them for three years.
