CityNews – Chiang Mai police officers at Region 5 headquarters yesterday congratulated Major-General Nithipat Pattanatabut after an astonishing fifth lottery win in two months, netting him a total of more than 1.5 million baht.

Nithipat won 400,000 baht with 100 tickets in Wednesday’s draw. This follows his winnings of more than a million baht a month ago, as CityNews reported. He said he also won 170,000 baht on September 16 and had wins on August 1 and August 16.

The modest cop explained that the tickets were bought on behalf of his 86-year-old father Prida Pattanatabut, a former government minister and member of the House of Representatives for Chiang Mai.

He said his father uses life graphs and star charts to work out the winning numbers, and he then sends his family out to buy the tickets for him. Pol Maj-Gen Nithipat also told his underlings to buy tickets with those numbers.

One officer said Nithipat had told him that his father predicted a win with a number ending in the number five. He went out and bought a ticket and the prediction turned out to be correct, the officer told CityNews. He hopes he will get winning numbers from his boss again, he added.
