CityNews – It’s been a while since a star played in the Thai Premier league. Not since Robbie Fowler has a household name kicked a ball in Thailand’s top division…and he was gone about two weeks after we interviewed him.

But the time has come again to welcome an international football star to the Land of Smiles…and smiling he should be on 2 million baht a week, more than anyone has ever been paid for playing football in Thailand. Jay Simpson, who not long played for the premiership’s Arsenal and Hull, has just signed a two year contract to play in Thailand.

Simpson is just twenty four years old but has already played as striker for Hull (last season), Arsenal, Millwall, Queens Park Rangers, and West Brom.
