Final Farmer in Chacheongsao Receives Money for Rice

CityNews – On Tuesday, 24 June, the last of the money owed for the rice pledging project was paid to Thai farmers in Chacheongsao province for the 2013 – 2014 crop season.  The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) and representatives of the military paid 200,000 baht to Suthi Chatreechaisit, a farmer from Bangkhla, a district of Chacheongsao province, which is located along the Gulf of Thailand. Suthi is the last farmer to be paid, and says that he will use the funds to pay off debts.
The BAAC Bangklha branch had 1,481 registered farmers that pledged 21,305.396 tonnes of paddy, amounting to a total worth of 315,319,862 baht.
