Park authorities are pleased as punch to announce that since the end of the pandemic, or since one year ago, a total of 1.2 million people have visited the Doi Inthanon National Park, netting the park authorities over one hundred million baht.

According to Director of the Conservation Area 16, Kritchsiam Kongsatree, the last time Doi Inthanon parks collected more than 100 million baht in one fiscal year was in 2019, just before the pandemic. He went on to tell CityNews that the 14 national parks in Chiang Mai combined has so far collected 170 million baht from over two million tourists since the start of last year’s high season. This year’s income is expected to exceed these numbers, he said, attributing expectations to the incoming Chinese tourists who will be arriving with the new visa waiver rule.
