CityNews – Officials at Doi Inthanon National Park say more tourists have been visiting due to the cold weather. The temperature was measured at just 7 degrees Celsius this morning.

Chiang Mai province’s Doi Inthanon is Thailand’s highest peak, and the cool temperatures attract many domestic tourists at this time each year. Many stay overnight so they can view the sunrise and see the mist at dawn.

Officials are getting ready to welcome more tourists next weekend by repairing guest bungalows in the park. They say tourists should be prepared for the cold weather – especially those suffering from hypertension, asthma or respiratory tract disease – and drivers should beware of thick fog in some areas.
