Chiang Rai Man Arrested for Making ‘Pen Guns’ and Selling Them on Facebook

CityNews – Police and soldiers seized a number of ‘pen guns’, as well as bullets and equipment for making the firearms, after raiding two houses in Chiang Rai’s Terng district on Monday.

They raided the first house after receiving information that the guns – disguised as pens – were being made there and distributed across the country.

Owner Prakit Promma, 28, confessed to making the crude firearms and selling them to customers who ordered them on Facebook for 800 baht each. He will be prosecuted.

Police seized six pen guns and 66 bullets, as well as equipment for making the guns. They then raided another house belonging to a relative of Prakit, and seized more equipment.

Officials later visited the post office in Plong sub-district and found seven packages containing pen guns and bullets, which were to be mailed to various provinces.
