The English-language community theatre was established nearly eight years ago, and performs drama and comedy at various locations across the city. It also reaches out to local schools, giving young people the opportunity to develop their artistic talents.

It is now aiming to raise $8,500 dollars (275,000 baht) in order to pay legal fees and place the Thai equivalent of $7,750 into a permanent bank account, so it can become a registered foundation in Thailand. Presently, it has raised about half of this amount.

“If we are successful, we will have accomplished something that has never been accomplished in Thailand before. We will become the first English-language theatre foundation in all of Thailand,” said founder Stephan Turner.
