On the night of 9th November (Yi Peng) villagers in Vieng Kum Kam in Saraphi subdistrict became alarmed when they saw fireworks erupting from the sacred Chedi Liam pagoda.
The Fine Arts Department has since investigated the matter and say that while there is some debris from the incident, no damage was done to the pagoda itself.
They said that in the future they will liaise with the temple for any activities which could impact any of the historical buildings.
