Cat Kingdom, home to over 2,000 reportedly abandoned cats, in Mae Taeng had announced its temporary closure.
Cat lovers from around the world have visited this cat sanctuary. However, the kingdom closed two months ago due to financial challenges, said it’s owner, who says that the cat population exploded this year from 1,500-2,200 cats due to people abandoning them.
The caretakers and vets are struggling to care for them all. There are currently 200 cats on the waiting list to join the kingdom, said a staff member.
