Body of Woman Found in Ping River

CityNews – The body of an unidentified woman was found floating in the Ping River outside Taluk temple in Chiang Mai yesterday.

Police, the Ruamjai Rescue Foundation and forensic doctors inspected the scene. The woman, who is believed to be Thai, was aged around 40 to 45 years old.

The rescue team retrieved the body and found a wallet with 725 baht in cash inside, but no documents indicating who the woman was or where she was from. She was wearing a wristwatch and a gold ring.

It is believed that she had been dead for at least three days, and there no signs of injuries on the body. Police believe she may have committed suicide or drowned after falling into the water.

The body was taken to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy, and police are trying to identify the woman so they can inform her relatives.
