CityNews – An Irishman has gone missing in Bangkok, where his last contact with his parents was on July 8 by phone. Since then, they have been unable to contact him either by phone, text, email or Skype.

Matthew Boyle, 37, is described as being 5.8 feet tall and of a stocky build. He has been living in the capital since 2011 and working as a Senior Business Analyst for Asia Biogas, which is the leading biogas company in the ASEAN region. Then, in 2013, he bought a bar with his friend, which they turned into SIP Wine Bar and Restaurant. Shortly afterwards, he left his job at Asia Biogas to manage the bar full time.

During the years he lived in Bangkok, he would normally be in touch with members of his family in Ireland at least two or three times during a normal week. Since the last contact they had with him was on July 8, they were worried that he had gone missing and made enquiries with Bangkok authorities and the Irish Consulate. So far, no information about his disappearance has been uncovered.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that they are carrying out a missing person investigation. If anyone has any information please contact the Irish Consulate on +66 26 32 6720. You can also share his photo on Twitter or Facebook.
