The project hopes to indicate how prepared the north is for the high season by welcoming tourists, showcasing the best tourist destinations and services on offer.

According to Chiang Mai Governor Pawin, Chiang Mai is now entering the high season, which will last until February 2016.

The governor believes that during this period, at least 2 million tourists will visit Chiang Mai, pumping around 200 million baht into the local economy. He added that 70 percent of tourists visiting Chiang Mai will be Thai.

On the same day, the governor also presided over the opening of Tribal Exhibitions, a display from Chiang Mai International Airport and Suksa Songkhro Chiang Mai School and will be on show until around the middle of December.

The exhibition is expected to motivate tourists to visit real places of tribal and ethnic importance as well as regular tourist destinations.
