CityNews – An Australian man was found dead in a hotel apartment on Thapae road on Saturday, police report.

The body of a 59-year-old David Phillip Crooks was found hung in his room three days after his death.
The police believe the man committed suicide and have informed the Australian embassy who have informed his family.
The owner of the hotel discovered his body after attempting to collect rent but after discovering a bad smell, he opened the room to investigate.
His body was discovered alongside letters suggesting he had been laid off from a Chiang Mai school he was working at.
Rescue officers have taken the body to a Chiang Mai hospital for autopsy.
