CityNews – The tourists of La Paloma Hotel at Pitsanulok have been inundated with many bookings being canceled from now until next year after the Region 3 Army discovered an illegal gambling ring. Many vehicles have also been seized.
On June 4th, Region 3 Army conducted a raid on the 5th floor of the La Paloma Hotel, finding an illegal gambling ring as well as 13 cars and 212 motorcycles that were used as gambling goods. The Army has seized all assets for further investigation. The gamblers have asked the army to return their possessions, but were denied.
Araya Ariyasombat, general manager of the Hotel, said many tourists have misunderstood the situation and have cancelled their bookings, thinking the hotel had been closed down, despite still being open as usual.
