The python weighed around 20 kilograms.

It took rescue services around 20 minutes to catch the snake before setting it free in a forest near where it was discovered.

Recently there have been many reports of stray pythons venturing into the city and residential areas.

Residents are encouraged not to try and catch the snake themselves, but call the authorities who have training in catching snakes. Pythons can be aggressive and cause injuries.
