43rd patient has been identified in Thailand to have contracted COVID-19

CityNews – 2nd March 2020, Dr. Sukhum Kanjanapimai, the permanent secretar of the Ministry of Health announced today that a 43rd patient has been identified in Thailand to have contracted COVID-19. This 22 year old woman had worked with patient number 37 in the tourism industry. It was also announced that another patient has recovered and is heading home after contracting the disease while visiting Japan.

Thailand has seen a total of 43 patients with 32 already released from hospital and declared cured. A further 11 remain in hospital.

The ministry also has added Germany and France to the list of countries best to avoid travelling to at this time, with others including China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Iran and Italy.
