Video footage caught the moment a large branch of an old yang tree along the Old Chiang Mai-Lamphun Road collapsed and fell onto a vehicle, causing injury to its 45 year old driver.
He was taken to hospital and will recover fully. The vehicle did not fare so well.
One of the residents in the area says that this is the third time that a branch has fallen off that particular tree, with the last one damaging the roof of a house.
