To date 17 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Mae Rim over the past week, according to the Chiang Mai Covid Response Centre.

With over 200 people now in self-quarantine spread over 11 sub-districts of Mae Rim, a central kitchen has been set up to feed them all, to avoid any contagion.

Today’s lunch was the first meal served, cooked and delivered by vaccinated volunteers, representing all sub-districts.

Every government office in Mae Rim is accepting donations of all kinds to assure those in quarantine do not suffer; from food to water, sanitary products to other necessities.

With over 600 boxes of food delivered every day, what is currently needed the most are environmentally friendly food containers and seasonings, said authorities.

Anyone interested in donating can do so by sending money to the Sub-district chief association of Mae Rim at Krung Thai bank account number 515-0-59353-2. There are three sub-district chiefs who oversee this account to ensure transparency. Every baht goes towards those in need.
