CityNews – 16th February 2020, Gen. Sukit Khamasundara, Chairman of the office of National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission, announced the results of the auction of 5G licenses. Advance Wireless Network or AWN in AIS group has won licenses in all 3 types of frequency as following.
- 700 MHz 1 license including 2×5 MHz at the bid price of 17,154 million Baht (excluding VAT)
- 2600 MHz 10 licenses including 100 MHz at the bid price of 19,561 million Baht (excluding VAT)
- 26 GHz 12 licenses including 1200 MHz at the bid price of 5,345 million Baht.
Back from the auction, the management team was greeted by AIS staff for successful winning lots of licenses of 5G spectrum. AIS is still No. 1 among competitors in owning the most numbers of frequency of 4G and 5G in Thailand, totaling 1450 MHz, and ready to be the first to develop 5G network in Thailand.
