Antiquing is a popular pastime here in Chiang Mai. While for some, collecting is as personal as it comes, others have an eye for future value. Antiques are valuable due to a number of factors; their historical or nostalgic value, their age and origin, their quality and of course their condition.

De Siam opened nine years ago, selling only 17 pieces of antique furniture in its Hang Dong store. These days De Siam is well on its way to becoming one of the Asia’s fasting growing ‘antique and junk shops’, with over 100,000 antique items in their possession. The items on sale at De Siam are mostly imported from India, Burma, Sri Lanka and China and are stored in eight different warehouses across Thailand. De Siam takes immaculate care of each item, guaranteed by ISO 9001, 2008 and 4001, the only junk shop certified by ISO in Thailand. They are not only a furniture shop, De Siam is a centre of high-quality antique furniture.

One day is not anywhere near enough to explore the treasures of De Siam, but it is a great day out nonetheless!
