The Farangutans FC travelled to Lamphun in February to play an exhibition game with the Lamphun FC seniors before the big game that involved the new Lamphun FC team against CMFC. In a short game there was little action, though the large crowd did their fair share of laughing, booing and clapping. The result was 0-0. In the main game CMFC beat Lamphun 2-1.

• CHIANG MAI FC
Chiang Mai FC’s first game of the season in Division 1 was away in Bangkok. The opponents were Thai Honda FC. Unfortunately, CMFC were defeated 3-1. CMFC recently signed Belgium Rene Desaeyere as their new manager for 2 years.

• SOFTBALL
Weather permitting softball is on every Sunday at the Payap fields. Pick-up games begin at 1:30 p.m. or as soon as they have 16 willing participants. They add to the teams as people arrive up to a maximum of 11 a side. They play on their own field by the entrance to Payap University without competition from any other sports teams (although they do have some competition from some scruffy looking cows).

Twenty three players teed it up for the February ‘Little Man’ and it was Jon Haid who added another notch to the trophy with a two stroke victory.
Symmetrical nines of 43 with nothing spectacular apart from recording pars on the difficult 4th, 5th and 12th holes. The real story was just two doubles for the round. Forgivable when you par the hard ones and negotiate the rest in par or bogey.

There is judo practice at Chiang Mai University on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 8.30 a.m.to 10.30 a.m. All are welcome.
